Darrell Mockus is a career technology strategy and intelligence analyst. Mr. Mockus is a business strategy veteran whose recent work focused on evaluating and defining technical business strategies on behalf of Venture Capitalist and key company stakeholders (representing over $700 million in invested capital). Darrell was a co-founder of e-Vangel, Inc., a company dedicated to providing analyses for Venture Capitalists and Corporate Management through products, services, and technology assessment. He has performed technical, executive management, and product due diligence on behalf of over a dozen venture capitalist firms and corporations including Chase Capital Partners, Warburg Pincus, Fremont Ventures, and Hambrecht & Quist. He has extensive industrial Web experience designing and managing advanced, large-scale Web database e-Commerce projects as well as promoting practical and innovative product development and management processes.

Darrell is an experienced start-up veteran and was formerly working as an independent contractor assisting start-up companies build their e-commerce, Internet and BI and CRM systems. He helped found WarrantyNow where he set business and marketing direction and developed a patent pending online warranty management system. Previously, Darrell held the position of Server Side Engineering Group Manager at Release Software where he designed and developed a patent-pending electronic software distribution system. Other projects include a patent-pending online large scale data warehouse application for OneChannel.net, an online classifieds system for Electric Classifieds, and the world’s first online match-making service for Match.com. Darrell is also a specialist of high-change high-speed engineering management and development practices. At Nortel/Northern Telecom, he worked on bringing the UCS Field Support Division into its first ISO 9000 compliance. Darrell was also responsible for emergency software field support of live mission critical telecom switches and served as a Product Line Specialist for the business development division of GSM/PCS where he developed product specifications for the GSM/PCS1900 product line for MCI.

Mr. Mockus is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he majored in Computer Science Engineering with a Minor in Engineering Management and Marketing, and a concentration in Engineering Economics. Darrell has served as a Board Member for early-stage start-up companies. He was also a member of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) and the Rensselaer Alumni Association. He is a published author and served as a member of the Strategic Steering Committee of the Southern California chapter of SCIP.
